Ok, how come no one told me this? Blending modes in QGIS? I’m running the nightly build for 1.9, so I have no idea if this is new or old, but a little compositing in QGIS is very welcome… :
Now, how the heck do I set transparency?

This is a new feature only added a couple of weeks ago.
To set transparency you select the rest node in the symbol layers tree and there will be a slider.
Just in time for a new map series in my office to match the great web cartography we have beem employing.
